Hopskeller Brewing Company Grand Reopening

It’s finally time to reopen after the fire.  Visit Waterloo’s Hopskeller Brewing Company for their Grand Reopening from 4pm to 1am. That’s right, fans, it’s the day you’ve all been waiting for! After a week shy of a year, they will be back in business for what shaping up to be a beautiful weekend. Bring family, friends, and yourselves and come celebrate with them.

Witches Warlocks and Wine!

Friday the 13th is a great night for spooky fun! Visit Schorr Lake Vineyards in Waterloo for a Party that starts at 7 pm. They will have live music provided by the John Sabo Revue from 7 until 11 pm! Complimentary hot dogs, bratwurst, and chili, while it lasts! There will be prizes for best costume.  You are welcome to bring your own snacks. Don’t miss this scary fun party.

Haunted Belleville Walking Tour

Do you dare venture out into the night on Friday the 13th to explore Belleville’s hidden, haunted past?
Join the St. Clair County Historical Society from 6 to 8 pm for a brand new walking tour filled with ghosts, strange happenings, and bone-chilling tales from Belleville’s past. Tickets can be purchased from the link above, so gather your friends and see Belleville as you have never seen it before…Those noises are just the wind, right?

Friday the 13th IT Skate

Feeling brave? Get on out of the house to Fun Spot in Belleville from 7:30 to 10;30 pm for a special skating night. We hope your not afraid of clowns! Cost is an $8 admission and $2 skate rental.

Haunted Hayrides and Bonfire Rental at Eckert’s

Visit Eckert’s Millstadt Farm from 6:30 to 9 pm for fun for the whole family! There’s lots of ghoulish fun for young and old on their hayride through Eckert’s haunted orchard. Or, enjoy an evening of good-ole, wholesome night-time fun around one of our bonfire rings. A fee applies so see the website link above for more information.

Saturday, October 14th:

Freeburg Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off

The Freeburg Fall Festival & Chili Cook Off is a fun filled Family Event with a Block Party Feel. Chili Contestants will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Along with the Chili Cook Off a Special Guns and Hoses Chili Competition will take place with Local Police and Fire Departments competing for a coveted Guns and Hoses Trophy. The Event Features 100% Public Voted Chili Competition, Live Music, Large Kids Play Area, Bags Tournament, VFW BBQ, and Much More. Don’t forget to pick up your Commemorative Old Fashioned Beer Bucket while tasting the Chili. Bring the whole family as there is plenty to entertain for all ages. All of the Money Raised will be donated to the Freeburg Food & Clothing Bank and the Freeburg Utility Assistance Fund.

Waterloo Illinois Pumpkin Fest

Visit the town square all day for lots of fun activities for the family. The day begins at 9 am and ends at 4 pm. This event features music, craft and merchant booths, entertainment, kid-friendly games, pumpkin painting, face painting, 5k walk/run and much more! Food and refreshments will be available on the grounds.

Fire Pit Concert Series at Eckert’s

Join Belleville Eckert’s for their first-ever Fall Fire Pit Concert Series. Music will be by Maggie Thorn. The fall concert will take place from 7pm – 9pm at the Belleville Farm. The concerts are FREE and family friendly, they even have a spot for the kids to play while the concerts are going on!! No outside food or drinks are allowed. They do have food and drinks available for purchase at their outdoor patio and the Country Store & Restaurant are open during the concert times as additional food and drink options. Dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash. You might want to bring your own lawn chair as the provided tables and chairs tend to fill up fast! You can follow the link above to reserve seating.

Harry Potter Trivia Night

Wanted- Muggles and Wizards! Visit the American Legion in Collinsville for the 2nd Annual Harry Potter Trivia Night from 7-10 pm.  This event is open to all ages. Events throughout the night include 50/50, costume contest, bonus expert round, and many more! Come test your Harry Potter knowledge and have a great time with your friends and family!

Sunday, October 15th:

Explore Waterloo’s Historic Architecture Tour

Come and learn about the beautiful historic buildings of downtown Waterloo! Tour guides will lead groups on an informational architectural tour of the downtown area. This is a FREE family-friendly guided walking tour and will take approximately one hour. Meet at the bandstand at the Courthouse Square at 3pm. Most buildings will be viewed from the outside, but you will be able to go down to JV’s cellars!

Oktoberfest at Red Bud Winery

Visit Red Bud Winery at 11 am for Oktoberfest. There will be beer tasting, wine tasting and music all day!  There will be live music by Chris Murry Duo from 1-4 pm and then Whisky Dixon will play from 4 to 7pm.

Fort de Chartres French and Indian War Encampment

Visit Fort de Chartres on Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.  Fort de Chartres is located near Prairie du Rocher. Bring the family and see 1750’s historically dressed Native Americans, soldiers, militia and camp followers re-enact and participate in everyday camp activities and military drills.
